Nicole Bussi has spent her career providing counsel to clients to enable growth, while helping them assess and diminish risk. She has experience working with a broad range of clients, from Fortune 500 companies to emerging nonprofits, to prevent employment law violations through the implementation of best business practices.
Ms. Bussi has handled claims in state and federal court, as well as counseled clients through arbitration, mediation, and settlement conferences. Ms. Bussi also has experience investigating workplace complaints, mediating staff disputes, and advising companies regarding hiring and employment standards including compliance with state and federal laws.
Currently, Ms. Bussi focuses on mitigating liability for employers big and small. She recognizes the challenges employers face in understanding and complying with the ever-changing laws, and works with clients to assess their compliance, and counsel them to ensure they implement proper procedures moving forward.
Ms. Bussi focuses on employment issues relating to wage and hour claims, reclassification, reviewing and revising employment documents, and employee disputes including retaliation, harassment, and discrimination. In addition, she helps clients respond to state and federal agency claims of retaliation, harassment, and wage and hour violations. Ms. Bussi understands that the simplest of issues can turn into a costly burden to a company, and she strives to provide employers with a comprehensive strategy to avoid liability.
Ms. Bussi earned her J.D. from U.C. Hastings College of the Law in 2007. Previously, she graduated with honors from Santa Clara University in 2000 with a double major in Spanish and Liberal Studies. She is a member of both the California and Marin Bar Associations.
